I would also gladly pay for bibdesk on iOS. If I could cite texts on my iPad
through a custom keyboard, like some clipboard managers for iOS currently do,
it would be enough for me.

I think there is a need for such an app. I used to use pocketbib, which is no
longer supported. I would pay for a bibliography reader on the iPad, that's a
terrific way to read papers on the iPad.

No, it is not functional. It was an early and initial attempt to port
bibdesk to its, but it never got very far.
