Responding to Jason's question about BibDesk's HTML rendering, Christiaan can correct me if I'm wrong, but I would guess that BibDesk's preview uses Apple's Cocoa text system to interpret the HTML as rich text. I don't know if Apple has documented anywhere exactly which tags are interpreted
