Within the last month, we've seen new versions for the 9.8.x, 9.7.x, and 9.6.x
trains.

Should we expect a 9.9.0 update in the near future (e.g., 9.9.1)?

At this point, we think that 9.9.1 will be out mid- to late summer. The
other versions will follow. And, actually, the versions you note below
followed 9.9.0, even though it took a bit of time (sorry about that).
