Hello Bird Users,
Have a question about bgp best path algorithm in Route Refletector
environment and possible fix:
Topology ( we use only iBGP with multiply RR):
r01a.tor - r01.leaf.105---r01.spiner01.leaf108-r09a.tor
I announce the same block 172.232.0.0/19 from both tors

Hello,
In my setup I have iBGP session with peer , and I learn v6 route. It is iBGP so
we have 2 next hops global and link-local. By default bird uses link-local when
route is exported to kernel. Is there any command to change this behavior and
use global v6 address as BGP next hop when we
ext-hop 2600:1488:6081:106::a;
next term;
}
}
Thanks,
Dariusz

Hello Bird users,
Have you ever use RFC 5004 and “older prefer” knob. I am trying to use it but
it seems not to work:
1.Router learns the same route from different ebgp peers, it prefers route from
r01a and this route is exported to BGP peers
172.232.160.0/19 unicast
Hello Bird users,
I was trying to find how to configure BGP as-override in BIRD, but without
success.
I am looking for this in BIRD:
https://www.juniper.net/documentation/us/en/software/junos/bgp/topics/ref/statement/as-override-edit-protocols-bgp.html
Did anyone use this option?
Thanks,
Hello Bird Users,
I am trying to implement RTBH (Remotely Triggered Black Hole) in below setup:
0.Simplified Topology:
* ebgp fabric
* inside fabric we use only IPv6, so we announce IPv4 blocks with IPv6 next
hop (extended next hop)
* tor --- leaf --- spine---3xstem(3xborder_leaf)
Hello Ondrej,
Thanks for explanation and workaround. It works like expected.
Thanks,
Dariusz
