Red-headed Woodpecker on Lakeshore Rd east of Bond Head near the junction
with Morgans Rd.. The bird was first seen in a hedgerow close to the road

On Sunday, while out with my daughter in the Fisherville/Nanticoke area
I first heard then saw 3 separate flocks of Tundra Swans.
Total of the 3 flocks was about 200 birds. These flocks were headed
Northwest. Also present were several Bald Eagles all immatures.

Things are off to an early start this year. A flock of 250 Greater Snow
Geese over the Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary on Saturday and a
single bird along the Long Sault Parkway yesterday suggests that we may see

Today I observed a mixed flock of Snow Geese and Ross' Geese with the later
totaling 22. If I am correct this might be a high total at one time for
Southern Ontario.
Also note worthy was 750 Ring necked ducks and likewise of Redheads.
