The surprising, perhaps unprecedented, open conditions at Presqu'ile
Provincial Park (no snow having fallen yet this season) have not been
conducive to easy birding. Some of the most wanted target birds
require birders to wade to Gull Island under conditions involving heavy
wave action and
3:30 PM Bald Eagle observed on the Detroit River this date in Amherstburg,
Ontario - across from Crystal Bay . had the Nikon with me, photos

Hello,
Birded the Casselman to St. Isadore areas today on the north side of the
416. Seen one Snowy Owl, south of Ste. Rose. Other birds included a pair of
Snow Geese among a folk of Canada Geese just south of the town of St.
Isadore. Seen also, one very dark morph Rough-legged Hawk, three

Hi Ontbirders; A 1st winter Franklin's Gull has been at the Kincardine
harbor for three days now. The gull varies between periods
of actively flying and then resting on the water but hardly ever leaves the
harbor basin. As far as I know everyone that came today got good looks at
the bird. One
Today at approximately 5:00pm there was a Brant, Little Gull, and 2 Parasitic
Jaegers at Kettle Point.
All 3 species were seen from the beach near the tip.
Brant- with group of many mallards, and a few canada geese, east of the very
tip in the water.
Little Gull- with group of bonaparte's

Birded the Casselman
As an addendum to Connie Denyes report about the snow geese at LaFleche Rd. my
wife, Dawn, and I went out to this area to see the snow geese which gather in
large flocks (thousands) at this time of year. The night before Hans
VanderZweep and I chased the back roads around Moose Creek to find
Suet feeders are now operational at the Visitor Centre and Spruce
Bog Boardwalk. It will be interesting to see whether Boreal
Chickadees are attracted at Spruce Bog as they were last year.
Warmer temperatures and rain on Sunday removed much
of the snow along Highway 60, but more came today.
