Hi there,
For two days (March 6 & 7) I have had a SY female "Oregon" Dark-eyed Junco
visit my backyard. This rare treat makes for the 9th recorded sighting of
an Oregon Junco within the Ottawa 50k. I am just getting back home from a
lab session on campus so I'm not sure if the bird has visited our
Both the Western Grebe and Harlequin Duck remain at Col. Samuel Smith
Park and were seen this morning by Mike Kimber, Julian Sidebottom and
myself along with several other observers.
The grebe was yet again off to the south of the western spit partway

There are two adult and one young Trumpeter swan on the Mississippi River at
Cram rd which is off Appleton Sideroad off Hwy 7 near Carleton Place. The
location is at the mobile home park.

I was excited to see a Great Gray Owl in Georgina yesterday. It was on
Metro Rd N, not far from the entrance to the Metro Road Tract of the
York Regional Forest, near Jackson's Point.
