August 18 Shorebird Trip to Rock Point and the eastern Lake Erie shore.

There was a single Black-bellied Plover this afternoon at West Perth Wetlands.
The fenced cell continues to provide good habitat for a large number of
shorebirds. There were good numbers of Killdeer, Lesser Yellowlegs,
Semipalmated Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper along with smaller numbers of
This morning at 10:30 Lillian and I saw a White-crowned Sparrow at the Cabot
Head Bird Observatory. It was seen close to the main buildings. We had good
looks, and needless to say we were fairly surprised to see it.
We also had a close encounter with a large Massassauga Rattlesnake on the road
