After viewing some photos of adult Slaty-backed Gull, I'm thinking the bird
near Guelph may be too light on the back. Although it is certainly darker than
adult Herring Gulls - it's about the colour of a Lesser black-back - it doesn't
appear as dark as the birds in the Slaty-backed Gull photos.
Single white snow goose in pond at the corner of ashburn and Winchester this
morning.

This morning at around 8:30. The previously reported female Varied Thrush was
in the same general area, seen from the bike path down by the stream from the
McIntosh trail loop at Two Creeks Conservation area. Located North of Wheatley
on County Rd 1. Also Snowy Owl on Essex Cty rd 14 on top of
Saw a snowy owl on top of a warehouse on the southeast corner of Winston
Churchill Boulevard and Steeles Avenue at 4:45pm Dec. 22.

This afternoon I drove up to the field outside Guelph where Mike Cadman
reported he and Bryan Wyatt saw an interesting gull yesterday.
There were many gulls present: mostly Herring gulls, but also Ring-billed as
well as Glaucous, Iceland and Great Black-backed. The birds were 100-200
