[Ontbirds] Possible Slaty-backed Gull - maybe not(?)

After viewing some photos of adult Slaty-backed Gull, I'm thinking the bird near Guelph may be too light on the back. Although it is certainly darker than adult Herring Gulls - it's about the colour of a Lesser black-back - it doesn't appear as dark as the birds in the Slaty-backed Gull photos.

Birders, This afternoon I drove up to the field outside Guelph where Mike Cadman reported he and Bryan Wyatt saw an interesting gull yesterday. There were many gulls present: mostly Herring gulls, but also Ring-billed as well as Glaucous, Iceland and Great Black-backed. The birds were 100-200
