Today Doug Pedwell, Stu Nutt, Nancy White and Mike Pickup along with many
members of the Bruce Birding Club viewed the Ruff between 1:30 and 2:00 pm in
the same location as reported by Jarmo Jalava yesterday. Many good lucks as it
was displaying amongst a group of Greater Yellowlegs. Thanks
Ruff continues as of 11:06am... beautiful bird. Well worth the trip...

Ontbirds Subject: [Ontbirds] Ruff - Bruce-Grey Line
At least one and possibly both of the Little Blue Herons were present a short
time ago in Corner Corner's pond at 45045 Fruit Ridge Line near Sparta.
About 35-40 minutes ago, I inadvertently flushed one of the birds while walking
along the trail on the east of the pond. The bird glided across
Significant melting of snow and opening up of some small lakes and ponds
occurred this week. All larger lakes remain ice-covered. New arrivals continued
to appear, but fewer than last week (see list below).
Fox Sparrows were at the Visitor Centre all week, peaking at seven birds on
April 20.
Ron Allenson found a single Avocet on the east beach at Port Burwell this
morning around 8:45. Still present.
Directions: Hwy 19 / Plank Rd south from Tillsonburg. Head down to the beach,
east side of the river.

The male Ruff is present this morning in the same fields described yesterday.
It's been shifting between the three fields closest east to the bridge directly
south of the intersection of Grey-Bruce Line and Sideroad 1 near Chatsworth in
Grey County. It has been pretty distant in a field all
Redheaded woodpecker near visitor centre. Same day as last year.
Take exit 101 off the 401 and follow signs to Rondeau Provincial PArk.
Entry fee is $17.
