At around 8:10 PM I found a Lark Sparrow in the Blue Heron parking lot feeding
with a group of Chipping Sparrows. Hopefully this bird is still around in the
morning!

Newly arriving migrants have made for great birding at Presqu'ile
Provincial Park this past week, though the stereotypical fallout that
has trees dripping with birds that wintered in the tropics has yet to occur.
The first BLUE-WINGED TEAL of the season was in the woodpile marsh on
April 21.

years, but we usually see our first Swifts in the first few days of May.

I wish to thank everyone who responded to my request for volunteers. I
now have enough people to fill out the survey teams for this year.
We will be carrying out the point counts again next year on the second
weekend in June so if you can't make it this year there is always a
chance in 2018.
