Birders

I'm sure I've mentioned this before but Ontbirds has Posting Guidelines for crafting messages. Following the guidelines can help others find birds.

Key to a effective post is clear and concise directions. Directions should be included in every Ontbirds message.

Include the subject bird with a recognizable location name in the subject line of your message.

Add extra information if it will help the next person prepare or find the bird (bring a scope, be prepared to walk etc).

For more suggestions about posting on Ontbirds please review our Posting Guidelines which can be read at http://www.ofo.ca/information/ontbirdsguide.php

Finally it's always a good thing to remind yourself this is email. Once the send button is hit, an Ontbirds post goes to almost 2700 inboxes and a host of web applications. Save yourself some grief, before sending a message read it one more time.
