Hi, Not my sighting, but I thought I'd get the word out about an American White Pelican in Erieau this afternoon. It was being seen from the road (I assume) in the pond at McGeachy Pond CA.
Here in the eBird checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/canada/view/checklist?subID=S40269225 Directions: Off of Colonel Talbot, turn onto Erieau Rd, which is a couple minutes west of Blenheim. The locatio will be on the right side of the road, just before you enter Erieau. Also, if any one is in the area, you might want to pop into the landfill, which in on the same road, only about a km north of Colonel Talbot. There was a long staying American Avocet, which hasn't been reported in awhile. I am wondering if it is still there (likely it isn't, but you never know with birds) The bird was in the pond on the left side of the short road off Erieau which brings you to a gate.
