Posting for Chip Weseloh editor of Ontario Birds the Journal of the Ontario Field Ornithologists

Volume 28(1) of Ontario Birds will be appearing soon. It has a full
compliment of 56 pages, including four major articles and one note.

The lead article is on historical trends and recent surveys of Forster's
Terns in Southern Ontario by Dave Moore and colleagues; it is
accompanied by a cover painting of that species by Barry Kent McKay.

The second article deals with the reproductive success and band returns of American Kestrels in agricultural landscapes in southern Ontario; it is by Kimberly O'Hare and colleagues.

The third article is on Ontario's recovering population of Peregrine Falcons; it reports on a province-wide survey in 2005. It is written by Ted Armstrong and Brian Ratcliff.

The final article is on a roosting site of Great Egrets at Wheatley, Ontario; it documents numbers of egrets, direction of arrival and possible places of origin. It's by Chip Weseloh and colleagues.

The last item in this issue is a note on the hunting behaviour of Snowy Owls at Long Point (Lake Erie) by Stu Mackenzie.

It's an exciting issue !!
