Bobolinks displaying mating behaviours in farm fields and blue heron has
moved to marshy areas on water front. Blue birds, many swallows. Turkey
vultures were feeding at corner. Also many flickers in ditches. 

 

Farm fields with many bobolink are north on 638 from highway 17 at Bruce
Mines, turn right on McPhail. Pairs seen near cedar hedge at first farm on
north side and behind barn and in ditch area at farm near Chapman Rd. 

 

Blue Herons were in these fields but now at Bruce Bay Cottages. Go south on
Bruce Bay Rd from highway 17 at Bruce Mines. 
Only way onto the islands is the road and birders can check in at the main
cottage/office for permission to bird on private property around light
house.
