Highlights:

The week has been exceptionally wet and windy but the weather brightened up
today. The birds are out there but the birders (on the whole) haven't.
However, with the KFN fall Round-up taking place this weekend, some rarities
should be forthcoming. Here are the highlights of the last week:

BRANT - a single bird was seen on Wolfe Island on 3rd Nov.

CACKLING GOOSE - 3 birds were showing well at Millhaven on the afternoon of
3rd Nov.

BLACK SCOTER - 2 females were present at the winter dock on Wolfe Island on
3rd Nov.

RUDDY DUCK - 18 birds were seen at Hay Bay on 2nd Nov.

CATTLE EGRET - with an apparent influx across the province, a single was
seen at Millhaven on 3rd Nov.

GOLDEN EAGLE - very slightly out of the area, 4 birds were seen near Prince
Edward Point today, 3rd Nov.

COMMON GALLINULE - a late bird was seen at Lansdowne on 1st Nov.

DUNLIN - several birds were seen in the area. 50 were seen in fields near
Lansdowne on 1st Nov., 41 were at Reed's Bay, Wolfe Island on 2nd Nov.

PECTORAL SANDPIPER - 1 was seen on Wolfe Island on 3rd Nov.

BLUE-HEADED VIREO - a relatively late example of this species was seen at
Lemoine point, Kingston, on 3rd Nov.

In order to minimise disturbance to wildlife and property in the recording
area, Kingston Field Naturalists has adopted the KFN Sensitive Sightings
Policy
<http://kingstonfieldnaturalists.org/birding/KFN_sensitive_sightings_policy.
pdf> . Please note that you must be a member of Kingston Field Naturalists
(KFN) or be accompanied by a member to access the Martin Edwards Reserve.

As always, a big thank you goes to all those who have submitted sightings
directly or via eBird.

Mark.
