Good afternoon birders, Birding continues to be relatively slow at Rondeau. Conditions are looking good for an influx tonight, so hopefully the long weekend will be productive. Pony Barn is one area that has been relatively busy with birds today, although no rarities seem to be present.
A Yellow-breasted Chat was seen again on South Point Trail, on the left side of the trail where the it makes a 90 degree curve to the right at the lake. Prothonotary Warblers continue to be seen on Tulip Tree Trail, and a Worm-eating Warbler was reported from here too. Cerulean Warbler was reported from South Point. The 2 Glossy Ibis were seen again on private property near the Blenheim Sewage Lagoons, so maybe they will return. Thank you to everyone who contributed sightings and please continue to do so at the Visitor Centre or to me through email. eBird users submitting checklists from the park are encouraged to share them with the username "RondeauPPVisitorCentre" for our records. More information on the park's nature programs and the Friends of Rondeau is available at the Friends' website: www.rondeauprovincialpark.ca. Directions: Take exit 101 from Highway 401 and drive South 16 km on Chatham Kent Road 15. Turn right and follow the signs to the park.
