Long Point Bird Observatory Update – May 1 
 
    
   Migration is really picking up at Long Point.  Thirteen warbler species were 
at the Old Cut field station today alone.  A Hooded Warbler ( a second-year 
male) was banded while Bay-breasted and Blackburnian warblers sang above.  
Other warbler highlights include Blue-winged, Cape May, Worm-eating (Tip), and 
Yellow-breasted Chat.  
    
   The first Red-eyed Vireo was also singing in the Old Cut woodlot, and a 
Warbling Vireo was at Breakwater.  Early this morning a Sora was also banded at 
Old Cut.
