saw two lapland longspurs this morning at 8:30 am. among a flock of about 75
snow buntings. This flock has been present fairly regularly at this location:
Columbus road just east of Lakeridge. Flock has been in the field of the first
farm on the north side. Also observed birds flying to

I phoned the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority this afternoon and
spoke with one of their wildlife specialists about the Mountain Bluebird. They
were appreciative that I called and told me that they were aware of the bird's
presence and are happy that people are coming to see and

No phalaropes were present today in the south cell of nonquon sewage lagoons in
port Perry. I did not exam all cells in the lagoons. There were notably less
shorebirds this morning although both short-billed dowitcher and pectoral
sandpipers were amongst the more common birds.

Saw a pair of osprey on a nest north of stouffville road by about 2k on the
east side of the 404 in a satellite tower. One of the osprey was returning to
the nest with a large fish in its tallons.

Received a text from a friend who is now watching the Tri-coloured Heron at
Tommy Thompson Park in Cell 2 (as of 4:05pm). It is about a 25 minute walk to
Cell 2.
Bird was found yesterday by Paul Prior.

be Hudsonian, have not re-found the marbled yet. Birds I'm am viewing have

The cattle egret is still present in the NW field (Highland Farms) at Lakeridge
and Highway 2 in Ajax.

check a field for GWFG and found the Ross’s again. It is currently feeding in a
corn field on the east side of Audley Road just north of Taunton in Ajax.

For
A Yellow crowned night heron was photographed last Saturday at Duffins
Creek, Ajax and posted on Facebook. The bird was re-found yesterday but
not confirmed until today. I just saw the bird briefly hunkered down with
some other Herons. It flushed a short distance to a tree.
To see the bird a

concrete trail that is just south of the opening across from 176 Lake
Driveway.

Marsh. Scope is definitely required. Most of the open water is frozen, it’s
hanging around with a group Canada geese. Patience is required.

A male Eurasian Wigeon is currently being seen from the south platform of
cranberry marsh on Halls Road South, Whitby. While scope isn’t absolutely
necessary it is recommended. Bird is swimming in and out of the weeds to
the north of the platform.

Apologies for not getting this out earlier. We had a potential Laughing
Gull at approximately 10:40am. Bird was sleeping and hidden making ID
confirmation difficult. The bird finally woke up and flew shortly after
that giving everyone good looks, confirming identification. As far as I

There is a Worm-eating Warbler currently at Bowmanville Westside Marsh. It
was found last night by Sam Collins and continues today. The bird can be
hard to locate but is actively calling and feeding. To reach Bowmanville
Westside Marsh take the Liberty exit off 401 in Bowmanville, take Lake Rd
Currently looking at the whistling duck that was found last night. Bird can
be viewed from the south end of Mersea road 21 or from around the corner on
Mersea road 2. Scope not required but useful.

A photo of a Western Grebe was posted in the Ontario Birds Facebook Group —
bird was seen yesterday by the marina in Niagara on the Lake — individual that
saw the bird went back today and wasn’t able to locate it. These are all the
details that I have.

This morning I found a single bluebird sitting on a wire in west durham - I
took some photos in poor light and dismissed it as an eastern bluebird, but
having posted it in a few spots it has been confirmed as a female mountain
bluebird. See map from EBird for location.
The Mountain Bluebird was still present this afternoon at 3pm -- it varies
between being on Concession eight just east of Sideline 32 and North of 8 on
Sideline 30. It was also seen in a small puddle in the field on the north west
side of 8 and 30. A note about the location -- the whole area
Bird just landed on the wave tower. Seen from van wagners Beach. Scope
recommended.
