For those nuts enough to stand out in the cold it's been a fair day down here
at Lakeland centre. The Brown Booby remarkably hangs in. Parasitic Jaeger,
Brant and Short eared owl have been highlights.
Lakeland Centre is located on Van Wagners beach road in Hamilton.

The bird was still present showing nicely but occasionally disappearing into a
back yard at the end of Essa street. Thanks to Roxanne for her hospitality of
showing us where to look as we arrived late this afternoon.

Just had 26 more Sabine's Gulls with one adult as the lead bird leading them
inland. An adult parasitic was also seen at a distance.

It has been a little slow but we have had a Sabine's gull in fairly close about
an hour ago. A juvenile Pomarine Jaeger has been chasing Gulls out here for the
last 30 to 45 minutes.

There is a black legged kittiwake back at Bronte bluffs in Oakville at the end
of west river street which is west of Bronte road in Oakville. It is sitting in
the water offshore. It's a first summer bird.

Mourad Jabra phoned and sent pictures to me of an apparent Bewick's swan in a
large group of Tundra Swans at Aylmer Wildlife Management area today.
Interesting bird although I'm not sure if it's status in Ontario.

For those winter listing, Dave Don, Rob Dobos and I were able to locate the
Northern Waterthrush found on the Long Point count on the east side of Hunter
Road just past the Port Rowan Sewage Lagoons where the creek crosses the road.

According to ebird reports the egret flew north around 710 and out of sight.
Perhaps it went to roost for the night. Lots of folks are likely travelling
great distances for this bird so if it is found in the morning, please post to
Ontbirds to let people know.

A Black Vulture is now sitting on a post in the paddock behind the garage at
2312 Port Davidson Road south of Smithville with a number of Turkey Vultures
Directions: Go south on Port Davidson Road from Smithville. Bird is best seen

The Baltimore Oriole located two weeks ago is still here just past 1600 m on
the trail.
Access to the trail is at Bayfront Park at Bay Street north in Hamilton. People
may remember this trail from several years ago when the Black-throated gray was
here.
