Hi Everyone,
We just got a report of a Great Gray Owl that flew across Highway 60 between km
22 and km 23. This may be one of the birds that were in that very area several
weeks ago.
Good birding!

Hi Ontbirders,
A Carolina Wren is at the Algonquin Logging Museum right now. It was originally
found by Lev Frid, who happened to be working at the museum today. It was
successfully re-found by a bunch of us and is still there at this time. It has
been hanging around in the Red Pine forest
Good morning birders:
A Whimbrel was seen this morning three times, flying and vocalizing over the
Old Airfield and Lake of Two Rivers in Algonquin Park, coincidentally during a
guided bird walk. This would be only the 6th record of Whimbrel for Algonquin
Park, ever.
Good birding!

I saw a Snowy Owl in Arnprior (about 75 km west of Ottawa) last night ~

Highway 17 in Arnprior's commercial district.
One photo of the owl has been submitted to the OFO rare birds photo
page.

Greetings Ontbirders,
There were four (4) Trumpeter Swans (apparently without wing bands)
yesterday around noon in an area of open water on the east side of
Highway 11, just south of Severn Bridge.

To anyone with the interest or inclination, there is a Cattle Egret on

It was first reported as a small white heron-like bird at 2:30 p.m. and
I was able to confirm it @ 3:40 p.m. This is the 1st record of this
