At 7:30 this evening I found a basic plumaged American Avocet along the Couture Dyke in the eastern part of Hillman Marsh, Essex County. Crappy digiscoped photos taken. It is still present now at dusk. The Couture dyke is accessed from the south side of Mersea Road 2, east of the bridge.
