Bessborough Park/Oshawa Airport hawkwatch (7km north of Lake Ontario) 10am to 4:30pm 1912 Broad-winged Hawks (biggest kettle 210 birds) 6 Bald Eagles (3 adults) 1 Eagle Sp. 41 Sharp-shinned Hawks 1 Cooper's Hawk 2 Northern Harriers 3 Turkey Vultures 4 Red-tailed Hawks 7 American Kestrels 1 Merlin 4 Common Loons 2-3 monarchs/ minute The flight line these raptors follow through Oshawa runs from Adelaide/Townline in east Oshawa, passes over Simcoe/Rossland in North Oshawa, Oshawa Airport and onwards to the general vicinity of lake Iroquois shoreline hawkwatch. The parking lots in the southend of Oshawa Airport can provide great views of this flightline. To access this area, take the Stevenson road exit off the 401 and following it north to where it ends at the airport just north of Rossland Road..
