The male Harlequin duck was showing very nicely at Calf Pasture of the Presqu'ile Prov. Park at 2pm this afternoon. It was in with a loose raft of Greater Scaup and Long-tailed Ducks. Too far for photos but beautiful in a scope with great light on him.
David Bree To reach Presqu'ile Provincial Park, follow the signs from Brighton exit 509 on the 401. Locations within the Park are shown on a map at the back of a tabloid that is available at the Park gate. Access to the offshore islands is restricted at this time of year to prevent disturbance to the colonial nesting birds there.
