Sunny skies were a welcome sight this morning and many birders converged on the
Park to see what the change in weather would bring. Light winds earlier last
night seemed to facilitate movement.

A total of 15 warbler species have been reported so far today. A CONNECTICUT
WARBLER was reported from the bike path between Sleepy and Dunes. The bird was
not vocalizing. An AUDUBON'S YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was reported from the north
end of the seasonal footpath in Tilden Woods; there are several Yellow-rumped
Warblers feeding in the sloughs so it's worth a close look at every bird. A
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was seen at the Cactus Field on one of the early morning
Friends of Point Pelee hikes, and a second bird was also present, along with a
HOODED WARBLER in the same area. As well a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER.

In other bird groups, a WHITE-EYED VIREO was heard and seen on the Botham Loop
of Woodland Nature Trail, and a TUFTED TITMOUSE was seen from Bridge A. At the
very Tip, ~200 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and 100 DUNLIN regaled Friends of Point
Pelee hike participants as they circled over the rocks there. A CLAY-COLORED
SPARROW was seen on Woodland Nature Trail by the south end of Redbud. A LEAST
BITTERN was heard off the Shuster Trail today.
