Welcome to the 2018 Pelee Bird Festival Migration Reports. 

Our first May morning was mild with some southwest winds. There were a few more 
migrant species which showed up.
So far about 10 species of Warbler have been noted so far.

A SEDGE WREN was seen along the West Beach Trail, about half-way between the 
West Beach Parking Lot and the Tram Loop at the Tip.

A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was found about 20 m south of the "Serengeti" tree, south 
of the halfway point on the West Beach Trail.

The LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was sighted again on the south side of the boardwalk 
in Tilden Woods Trail. 

At the Tip, most of the reported birds were found. Offshore all three Scoters 
have been reported. Also a number of HORNED GREBES remain. Along the East Beach 
NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, SAVANNAH SPARROW, LINCOLN'S SPARROW, NASHVILLE WARBLER 
were noted. 
There were a few birds taking part in a reverse movement off the Tip. A few 
BOBOLINK, BALTIMORE ORIOLES, EASTERN KINGBIRD, and many blackbirds were seen 
until about 10 am.

A SCARLET TANAGER, and a INDIGO BUNTING were seen just south of the Tip 
Washrooms, as well as a number of warbler species such as BLACK-AND-WHITE, 
NASHVILLE, PALM, YELLOW-RUMPED, and YELLOW.
