A cool morning but the sun and a number of birds have warmed things up.
Birding is fairly steady in the southern part of the Park from the reports
coming in. A good mix of migrants and locally nesting birds have been noted.
About 20 species of warbler have been reported so far.

As the Tip was windy and cool, not much was found there. A late PINE SISKIN was
noted and a BLACK TERN was offshore with COMMON TERNS. Further inland at the
Sparrow Field both GOLDEN-WINGED and BLUE-WINGED WARBLERS were seen. A MOURNING
WARBLER was spotted at the Tram Loop.

Woodland Nature Trail had a CANADA WARBLER on the Redbud path and the
PROTHONOTARY WARBLER is still between bridge A and B.

Perhaps the brightest light is Tilden Woods where a male CERULEAN WARBLER, and
a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER have been reported. Multiple TENNESSEE WARBLERS,
AMERICAN REDSTARTS and NORTHERN PARULAS were singing. Many other species of
warbler, a few INDIGO BUNTINGS and three species of vireo were also seen.

This is the last day of the Point Pelee Birding Festival. On behalf of the
Friends of Point Pelee we would like to thank all the birders who have visited
Point Pelee this spring and who shared their sightings with us. We hope to see
you all again in 2017.

Good Birding,
