Highlights of reports received February 23 through March 2 from the Niagara Frontier Region. In the Lake Ontario Plains, February 23, 100 SNOW GEESE on Marshall Road in the Town of Yates. Other spring migrants, five WOOD DUCKS in the Town of Porter, RUDDY DUCK at Wilson Harbor on Lake Ontario, and AMERICAN COOTS and NORTHERN SHOVELERS in the Iroquois Refuge. Also, continuing reports of KILLDEER, RED-W. BLACKBIRDS and COMMON GRACKLES. In North Boston, a pair of RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS on territory, and a MERLIN on Grand Island. There will be a BOS meeting, Wednesday, March 8, at 7 PM at the Buffalo Museum of Science. A program will be presented on the Birds of the Niagara River and Outer Harbor. Visitors are always welcome at BOS meetings. The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, March 9. Please call in your sightings by noon Thursday. You may report sightings after the tone.
