  The Buffalo Bird Report is a service provided by your
  Buffalo Museum of Science and the Buffalo Ornithological
  Society. To contact the Science Museum, call 896-5200. Press
  the pound key to report sightings before the end of this
  report.

  Highlights of reports received April 28 through May 5 from
  the Niagara Frontier Region.

  Warbler migration is accelerating - at least a dozen species
  this week, highlighted by a GOLDEN-WING. WARBLER, May 2, at
  Beaver Island State Park on Grand Island. A late report of a
  rare migration find, LA. WATERTHRUSH, April 23, at Forest
  Lawn in Buffalo.

  Aside from warblers, recent reports included YELLOW-THR.
  VIREO, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, WARBLING VIREO, CLIFF SWALLOW,
  WINTER WREN, RUBY-CR. KINGLET, EASTERN TOWHEE, WHITE-THR.
  SPARROW, WHITE-CR. SPARROW, ROSE-BR. GROSBEAK, INDIGO
  BUNTING, BALTIMORE ORIOLE, PURPLE FINCH, and at Amherst
  State Park, a PINE SISKIN.

  May 2, by the Lake Ontario shore, a single EVENING GROSBEAK
  at a feeder at Sunset Beach in Orleans County.

  For several days, including May 3, a male HARLEQUIN DUCK at
  an unexpected location - the Batavia Waste Water Plant,
  among BUFFLEHEADS on pond T4. At least six HARLEQUIN DUCKS
  continue in the Niagara Falls rapids off the Three Sisters
  Islands at Goat Island.

  Other reports this week - arrival of SPOTTED SANDPIPER on
  Ridge Lea Road in Amherst. COMMON LOON on a yard pond in
  Sardinia. And PILEATED WOODPECKER at Beaver Island State
  Park.

  There will be a BOS meeting, this Wednesday, May 11, at 7 PM
  at the Buffalo Museum of Science.

  The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, May 12.
  Please call in your sightings by noon Thursday. You may
  report sightings after the tone. Thank you for calling and
