The arrival of spring birds to Presqu'ile Provincial Park has been
proceeding on schedule, with few early surprises.
Seven TUNDRA SWANS were still in Presqu'ile Bay near 18 Bayshore Road on
March 31. A pair of WOOD DUCKS flew over the lighthouse, as they often
do on April mornings. With

After 4 weeks delay, there was finally some bird action and some real
highlights. 2 TUNDRA SWANS were on Milton Road from the
Wednesday April 5th about 4:45 pm a pair of chickadees were flitting
about. One was calling a deep, buzzy or raspy 2-syllabled sort of
"ge-deep" rising a bit at the end. I did not get a good look at them.
The sky was grey and they never stood still long enough. They flew out
of Windrush
First-of-spring species reported this week were: April 1: Common Merganser,
Great Blue Heron, Song Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco; April 2: American Woodcock;
April 4: Wood Duck, Golden-crowned Kinglet (apparent migrants); April 5:
Mallard, Sandhill Crane, Turkey Vulture, Belted Kingfisher, Winter
