Thanks to Jen and Derek Lyon along with Keith S., Harold V., Chris B., Carey G. and Clive H. for helping with today's count. Weather: Still too hot and humid to really get the birds moving southward. Winds were light from the N then swung to the E and gained a bit of strength. High to 25C. Raptor Observations: Another smaller flight with a total of 207 with the bulk being Sharpies (156)...and the remainder Osprey (3), N. Harriers (16), a lone cooper's Hawk, not many Broadwings (12) and A. Kestrels (19). Non-raptor Observations: We continue to see the smaller birds on the move as well...with warblers (BT Green, Ovenbird, Common YT, Chestnut-sided, Nashville and Wilson's), Song Sparrow, N. Flicker, Red-bellied WP, G. catbird, Greater Black-backed gull, Belted Kingfisher, cedar Waxwings and RT Hummingbirds. The Blue Jays seem to be on the move with 387 tallied for the day. Also, Viceroy and Black Swallowtail along with 50 Monarchs. Predictions: Wet wet wet.
