A big thank you to everyone who has come out to the tower this season! Especially our volunteers who put so much time into helping out at HBMO! Weather: Opposite to predictions, it ended up being a gorgeous day on the tower! Not too hot, not too cold, and just the right amount of sunlight! Raptor Observations: Three raptors today, bringing our end of season total to 67,963 total raptors! One each of Sharp-shinned Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk (which were both young birds), and one female/immature Northern Harrier. The Red-shouldered was a nice end-of-season treat, coming nice and close to the tower! Non-raptor Observations: 49 non-raptor species were recorded for the last day of the count. It was a decent day for passerine migration; 129 Horned Larks, 10 Eastern Bluebirds, 109 American Robins, 441 Cedar Waxwings, and 161 American Goldfinches all migrated over. There was also a late Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and the continuing Wilson's Warbler seen.
