One thing I learned the hard way is: don't try to get away with
stuffing a lamb's belly with as much milk as they can drink and think
you can then do less feedings per day. I learned this from a goat
breeder. Her bottle babies always had scours.
Feeding them like that, and they will end up with
at times here for me, not all the
time unfortunately.
Good Luck,
Ray

Thanks for the ideas...She was not constipated always has warmed lamb milk
replacer. She is a twin that mom wouldn't take, she never nursed. I brought
her in to the house and started her on colostrum replacer for the first 5 days
and then went to the lamb replacer milk.
I resolved her
I have a 6 week old bottle lamb that has suddenly stopped taking her bottle.
She has dropped her feedings by 2 oz. each time for the previous three days,
now this morning and this evening she refused completely. She has been
nibbeling bark, moss, grass etc. and drank water this evening.
Could she be constipated? Have you changed the temperature of her milk?
Nancy

Shawna,
What exactly was in her bottle feed??? We found that our bottle baby liked
two bottles...one with diluted nutradrench (about a tsp of nutradrench to a
couple of ounces of water) and then his milk replacer. Lambs can be
lazy...the nutradrench gave him some liquid + some energy and
I'm the Pamper person. Newborn lambs take the smallest diaper available
(Size 1 for newborn babies). Purchased at the Dollar Store, they are quite
affordable. They cinch down pretty tight; I didn't have any trouble keeping
them on the lamb except overnight; by morning the diaper was full,
Okay, I am sure I didn't hallucinate that someone wrote that they put
pampers on a bottle lamb so the lamb could run around the house without
leaving the messes all over. How do you keep the diaper on. I put one on my
bottle lamb and after a few steps it falls down her legs and she steps out
