Re: didn't quicksilver used to learn what I do with files?

2014-10-27 Thread Patrick Robertson
Quicksilver has only ever learnt based on what you type. It cannot predict what
action you want to run on certain objects (although it would be nice)
If you want 'open with' to be a higher priority than large time (for all files)
then you need to go to the actions preferences and drag the 'open with...'
action above the 'large type' action

 Hi,

All the time now, when I want to open a script or text file, Quicksilver by
default puts it in Large Type. I have to specially select Open with my
editor. Didn't Quicksilver used to learn that I wanted to use my editor with
e.g. txt or py files? What's the deal, fam?

The Large Type action used to only support text in Quicksilver’s
interface, but now also supports plain-text files. If you had Large Type
ranked higher than Open in your preferences, it would become the default
for that type of file.

You just need to go to Preferences → Actions and drag Open to be
higher than Large Type.

Quicksilver on Yosemite

2014-10-27 Thread Chris Dean
Since I upgraded to Yosemite QS has been using a lot of CPU. I did a fresh
QS install to see if that would fix it, but no luck. All Plugins are off
and I'm at 400F.

Any ideas? Is there some logging I can turn on?

Cheers,
Chris Dean

Re: Digest for blacktree-quicksilver@googlegroups.com - 3 updates in 2 topics

2014-10-27 Thread Jon Stovell
Select the Web Searches (Simple) entry in the catalogue, then click the
little Info button (looks like the letter i inside a circle) at the bottom
of QS preferences window. This will open up a side panel showing you more
information. In that info panel, go into the Contents section and make sure
the web search you want is activated.

@Stovell; I wouldn't know if it was disabled but I think not. The side
panel says the latest version is 2.7.1, and the Status is Loaded.

After I upgraded to Yosemite on my iMac and on my MBP, typing g into
 the
first pane of the bezel simply reveals the Games folder on that
 machine.
When I go to Quicksilver Preferences, and under All Actions search for
 the
word search, I get those in the screen shot below. Under the Catalog
Tab I have Web Searches (Simple) checked. Under Plugins I have the
 Web
Search Plugin Checked. Nowhere do I see (qss-

remember long ago having to enter that expression somewhere, I don't
 recall
 where.

I have it as part of Web Searches (Simple). Is it possible that you
disabled it in the Contents tab of the Info drawer for the Web Searches
 (Simple) catalogue entry?
