Just went through these two old posts -- the AppleScript required 2 or 3
keywords to be changed but afterwards still seems to work fine. I've
updated the gists to reflect the required changes.

There was a Chat Support plug-in that supported both iChat and Adium, but it
stopped working long ago. I’m not sure if it’s even possible to send using
Messages
