I've not had much trouble with the newer version of QS, however I've noticed its got a lot slower during search when trying to find apps. The original version (even on Snow Leopard) used to update instantly as you typed. Now I can get to the end of a word before it has even tried to update.

Yea. On the whole QS seems just about as stable as it did under leopard. And that's the key metric. Speed is a different ball game. Overall it does seem to benefit from the general SL speed-bump, but it does get slogged down from time to time. Sometimes it is just a slug to respond to typing.

Can any of you take a look at Console.app and see if Quicksilver posts any unusual messages whenever you try to do something and it does not respond the way you are used to. For simplicity let's keep it to the Selection Proxy not working. Might bring some ideas what could be wrong.

Calculator plugin doesn't work for me. Immediately crashes QS. Seems to be DOA. The services plugin doesn't seem to work. After exploring Snow Leopard a bit, I was surprised to find out how much services had changed in 10.6. It's become a lot more useful. - Services now only show those services
