Moving from trac for now.

Pierre, LO builds fine on a 64-bit system. It does take a while (58 SBU
at -j4 for me). It takes 5.5G build space too.

See my build script and log at http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~bdubbs/lo/

We do need to try libreoffice-4.2.5.2 though.

 Just seen this now. Thanks.

There is a problem, though, Pierre does't receive post from us. So, I'm
sending with cco to Pierre.

After the problem is solved, I can do the long -j1 build that takes
139-143 SBU (just saw a typo 1443 SBU, will s/1443/144/)

So, for solving the problem, just -jx (x as large as you wish) is good
enough.

[blfs-dev] Lynx 2.8.8 in BLFS 7.5 - silent version change?

2014-06-20 Thread David Brodie

Hi

The file I have just downloaded today has failed a checksum test, the
actual checksum being as follows:

md5sum lynx2.8.8.tar.bz2

b231c2aa34dfe7ca25681ef4e55ee7e8 lynx2.8.8.tar.bz2

rather than f467c043fe9a3963fc1c05f54923803f as stated in the BLFS 7.5 book.

Further investigation reveals that the CHANGES file in the source root
folder states that the current version is now 2014-03-09 (2.8.8rel.2)
(currently the version in the Development Book), rather than the
original release. The download location is still
http://lynx.isc.org/lynx2.8.8/lynx2.8.8.tar.bz2 (or the same as ftp:)

I confirm that the above lynx2.8.8 is the same as in svn.

The one in BLFS 7.5 can be found here:

http://anduin.linuxfromscratch.org/sources/BLFS/7.5/l/lynx2.8.8.tar.bz2

and has the md5sum as in the book 7.5.

New entry in the errata, perhaps?

It's pretty crappy that upstream changes the underlying file for a link.

lfs-7.5 assumes lynx2.8.8rel.1.tar.bz2, but the web page points to
lynx2.8.8rel.2.tar.bz2. I guess they are too lazy to update the web
page. We've already updated the -dev version of BLFS to point to the
full filename.

The upstream url for lfs-7.5 should be

http://lynx.isc.org/current/lynx2.8.8rel.1.tar.bz2

There is no actual lynx2.8.8.tar.bz2.

Failed at the same point.

Pierre, even not solving, just building it would be good enough to
confirm the problem with LO, or with my system, in this case, I would
need to investigate my system. In the other case, someone with x85_64
would update it and, after suggestion by Bruce, add a note that it is
broken in i686.
