I just did an upgrade of
alsa-lib
alsa-plugins
alsa-utils
alsa-tools
alsa-oss
to the latest 1.1.6 version, as defined in ticket 10623

While I do use lib, plugins and utils, I was also able to check their
functionality. This is however not true for oss and utils. I have
compiled and installed both, as described in the book and got no
errors. I have however done no tests whatsoever, as I don't have the
required hardware/software to do so.
But the described changes for both packages are minimal, for oss it
only seems to be the address of FSF in some documentation and for tools
some changes in .desktop files and icons. So, I thought I can get away
with that.
