Hello you have to go to settings and then go to trouble shooting then uncheck the box called self defender. Then it asks you are you sure say yes. Then go to the avast webcite and download the removable tool. I have the tool I can try to send it to you if you want. - Original Message -

Can anyone tell me the steps for removing Avast anti-virus? I have a friend who would like to install MS security essentials instead, but I recall when I removed Avast there was a hidden part that had to be deactivated or the program would not uninstall completely. I think I just need a memory
