I am considering turning on MAC address filtering on my router but so far
haven't quite found where on the system they can be found. I have got the IP
address nailed down fine using IPCONFIG at the command prompt. Any tips will be
appreciated.
David Ferrin
I believe that tomorrow is another
Ipconfig /all
And look for Physical Address.
Something like this: Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx
That's the MAC address.

Dear Mr. Dave,
if you do not have it, grab a copy of 7-zip as I am going to send you
a small utility of list that will help you find your mac address and
also is useful for other things.
Stay tuned!

I see my error now. I was looking for MAC address and didn't realize that
physical address meant the same thing, thanks again.

Hello with windows live mail opened,
Press ctrl+#3 on the numbers
You can download Firefox 4.0 from the web site below. Before you install
it, you should first remove Firefox 5.0. Be sure to save the downloaded
Firefox 4.0 file in case you ever have to reinstall it again.

No, I used the windows key then in the search field type in ipconfig. It
produces the direct link to ipconfig.exe and I click on that to launch.

I get the MAC (*Media Access Control or *physical address) addresses
directly from the router's web interface. If you can find a button for
DHCP Table, it will show a table of all currently connected devices. On
my latest router, I found this information by pressing the DHCP
Reservation
First go to the command prompt by typing
cmd
in to the run dialogue and hitting enter. Then try IPCONFIG.
Note in order to exit out of the command prompt type
exit
and hit enter.

Hello there;
Yes, you can type ipconfig in the search box, and yes, it does come up with
ipconfig.exe, however, when I enter absolutely nothing happens.
Thus, the cmd from the run dialog, enter,
Now issue the ipconfig command,
Then type exit to get out/close.

Remember as long as it is jaws you view some
information with, you can always virtualize any
information you see on screen and copy and paste from there.
I use a gui utility to get the same information
on my box and that is how I transfer the mac address if needed.

Hi Lenny,
From the wording of your question, it sounds like you want to use the
registry editor
from XP, OR Win 2000 on Windows 7.
The answer in that respect, is no, however,
the command for the registry editor is the same in Windows 7, as in previous
versions of Windows.
