I saved this reply someone had written on how to perform a system restore, a
few months ago, but when I go to “system restore” in my programs menu, nothing
comes up like this. I use win 7, i. e. 8, which is why the “restore”, and jaws

Hello all,
I have a new Win 8 computer, and I am using JAWS 14. My wife helped me set
up some sounds, such as e-mail and recycle bin, along with some others. She
did this through the personalization, but the only ones that will work are the
e-mail, and recycle bin.
If anyone can help,
Actually no I hadn't. I know there are some special methods/apps out there
to use instead of digging around one's control panel error logs to find out
why it crashes, that kind of tells me it's time to move away from it if
they're making it easier for people to find out why it crashes. I simply
Hi Tom,
The steps you posted are for XP, it sounds like. Try the following for
Windows7:
1. Open the start menu/ Programs, press enter on Accessories.
2. Arrow to system tools press enter.
3. Arrow to system restore press enter. You're now in system restore.
4. Tab to, next, press the

Hi Tom,
When you get into the list of restore points, shift + tab 1 time to the Show
More Restore Points checkbox, check this box. Now tab 1 time into the list
of restore points there should be a whole bunch more!

Hi Ariel,
I was suggesting a different way for him to get to the Show more restore
points checkbox so he may not have to use the Jaws cursor.
Take care.

Hi Al,
I don't have a remedy. At work, I use Excel 2010 and Jaws 13, and don't
experience that problem. I have Jaws 14 but don't use it because overall I
find 13 performs better.
Hope someone else has ideas.

I face the same problem with Excel 2007 and JAWS 14 on my work PC. Since you
are facing the same problem with 2010 and not sure if you are using JAWS 14,
assuming you are. I am escalating this to the JAWS support team.
I am already in the persuit of resolving many other issues with how JAWS
