Is this the actual name of the program which I look for in add-remove?  I have 
such trouble getting that list of programs to pop up and to work through the 
process, am using jaws 11.

  It sounds like you installed the Windows Desktop Search.
  It is supposed to index all of your files for fast searching,
  but I have found it to be an annoyance and a resource hog.
  My recommendation would be to uninstall it thru the add/remove programs 
  applet in the control panel,
  this will return the Windows search to it's default state.
