Windows Xp will be installed, but we probably won't have sighted help, so I

That will start narator. Will Windows X.P. be installed all ready? if so,
that is how you access the narator.

Hello all.
I am going to be helping a friend get a computer going with windows XP.
It will have no screen reader when it arrives. is there a hotkey to
bring up narrator from anywhere, so I can at least use that to get
oriented?

thanks.

If you want to turn it on, use windows key then U.
then you can use the alt key and go to the exit menu.

Hi Rogelio,
In Windows XP, all flavors, windows key + U, will bring up the utility
manager,

and Narrator is set by default to load with the utility manager.
Alternatively, you can press windows key + R, to open the run dialogue, and
type the following and press enter:

Narrator
In either case, Narrator should have the focus when it opens.
