This is a great idea. One day we sat and watch the caulk that we had
just put in about three hours before, pop right out of the wall and
the little mice hopped right out into the room. The cat was quite
animated by it's appearance.

Tom, if you should ever need to fill those holes in, you may consider
putting some steelwool in there first and then calk over that. THis is
a way to prevent the mice from chewing through the calk and gaining
entry into your home.

During a recent kitchen project, I had a new stainless steel sink setting in
the basement. When we got around to installing it, there was a dead mouse
in it. Climbed or fell in and couldn't get back up the steel sid

There is insulation all inside a stove. Figure when used the oven is getting
anywhere from 350 to 400 degrees or higher. You wouldn't be able to touch it
at those temps.
