terminal that idea will not work.

I understand. that is why I am making an effort to be so specific.
From what I have come to understand, what makes a local machine local is
that you have done the installation, managed the configuration, and at least
to some degree, determined its content.
Both shellworld and Dreamhost use

The links are numbered feature works just fine in the edition of elinks

if the admins don't freak out.

That save html options also does nothing and is suspicious in its
placement too. Why is it in the main view menu? This package with
respect to this form of accessibility is broken on panix.com and my hard
drive. Something else suspicious, you're not told what keys you can hit
inside menus
Hi Larry,
Dreamhost is not shellworld, and I use no local machine.
besides the issue is resolved.
My efforts trying the view menu created a problem, I am disinclined to

I doubt very seriously if that will work at all.
Dreamhost does not fully construct their shell in that fashion.
In fact if i was to base the way Ubuntu shells structures function using

fortunately shellworld does a better job.

If, after setting the option, you didn't then go back to the View

Hi Tim,
Thanks for this. here is how I solved the problem.
Jude is correct that changing the option in the menu does not work,
although it might if you make the change then choose the save html
options , I am not sure.
Invoking the option as you provided does indeed turn on the feature,

You can invoke it with
links -html-numbered-links 1
or by using the menu:
View -> Html Options -> "Links are numbered"
or by editing ~/.links2/html.cfg and adding/editing the following
line:
Hi John,
Your guesses are correct. It would be nice if the new drive could have
an image of the old one, so it would work immediately. i don't know if
the errors are due to defects in the disk platters or to problems with
the controller. The machine is behaving normally now, but every few days

Here's what I had to do. You should first know the menu for adjusting
things in links gotten to by alt-v then arrow down to html options and hit
enter then arrow down to links are numbered does not work. I could not
find any way to get an x to the left of links are numbered. However,

I agree. If he needs this level of support, you want actually a fair
amount of Linux knowledge, enough to correctly setup brltty to come up
by default.
However, the machine hardware design/implementation and the Linux
specific assistance could be two shops. Or, heck, the Linux job could be

I am guessing John's problem would be with 2 things. First, he'd want
linux with braille installed on the new hard drive. Second, he'd want
his files copied from the old hard drive. Both of those things would
take some knowledge of linux. Maybe not a lot, but some.

First hit o to open options. Next hit /save and then hit enter twice.
Next hit /numbered and hit enter twice next hit /accept and hit enter
twice. You're using the lynx search option in this case to do all of
those searches in the options pages and it works just fine.

Hi, John:
I agree with your preference for taking your machine to a Linux shop.
However, it's probably not really necessary. Unless you're also asking
them to install software, any competent shop that builds machines to
customer requirements should be able to explore and help with upgrading

I don't think you'd need a linux shop specifically, just a good computer store
that can get you the kind of drive and such. Check with best buy if you've got

Have a good one.
