I don't see the message you're referring to, so I may be getting some of this out of context. You can use an ISO directly if you're going to install to a virtual machine. Otherwise, I think you need some install media, like a CD, DVD or USB stick. You can't install a new operating system

well, there are several distr.'s that have accessibility built in and ready to go right from the start. Ubuntu, Vinux, Slax (A version of slack ware) and a few others. I use Ubuntu here and I can do the entire install without sighted assistance right from boot up. SInce you are new, there are

Do you have an USB stick and can your computer / laptop boot from USB? If yes, you can download an image and copy it with dd to the usb stick, all data on the stick will get lost. Then boot from the stick and install the system with braille and / or speech support... Cheers, Schoepp On
