Hi Richard, > Summary of changes: > > * There is a severe problem with disk integrity. > - [[base-dma.dma_off_drives,drives=/dev/hdc,
Typically that happens if you got an IDE drive there, were DMA transfers are disabled. In your case the complaint was for /dev/hdc, which by itself warrants a yellow warning light in that case. Active Monitor tried to enable DMA transfers, but failed. That then gave you a red light. The actual RAID1 array may be sync'ed and everything, but if you got an IDE drive there where DMA transfers are not working or disabled, then that's a serious performance issue, as the drive will be a hell of a lot slower. BUT: According to the SMART status /dev/hdc is a WD5000AAKS-00A7B0, which is a SATAII drive, not IDE. Which leads to an entirely different issue here: Apparently you're running SATAII drives in "compatible" mode (as configured in your BIOS), which also is a performance relieability. It's like dropping an anchor. -- With best regards Michael Stauber _______________________________________________ Blueonyx mailing list Blueonyx@mail.blueonyx.it http://mail.blueonyx.it/mailman/listinfo/blueonyx
