Re-looked where the leak was coming from - looks like it is highly likely to be from the valve itself rather than the thread - Will order a new one. I think you can disassemble - but mine is on too tight to be able too (rounded off the hex nut on the top bit). Thanks for the help. Toby On

If 5 wraps of teflon doesn’t seal it, I doubt pipe dope will either. But possibly. I might try more teflon just for giggles, but probably it’s the valve itself. I don’t recall if you can disassemble, but if it’s like the vacuum breaker, it may just have an o-ring or other mating surface that

Yes the spring loaded one. Threads were cleaned, 5 wraps of tape. Can't see a crack in it, could be that the seal on the valve where it opens for an overpressure is leaking, hard to tell definately that it is from the thread rather than the valve. Will see if I can get some dope tomorrow

I’m curious how many wraps of teflon tape you used? Threads cleaned first? Are we talking about the pressure relief valve, i.e. the spring loaded one? Is the mating surface of the spring loaded valve clean? b > On Aug 10, 2017, at 12:15, herman dickens wrote: > > I'd

I'd try food safe liquid pipe dope. I think that will fix the problem unless there's a crack in the fitting. Herman On Thu, Aug 10, 2017 at 2:51 PM, Toby Rose wrote: > Hi Guys, > > My Brewtus 4 developed a leak in the last few days. Tracked it down to > the steam boiler

Steam Safety valve leak

Hi Guys, My Brewtus 4 developed a leak in the last few days. Tracked it down to the steam boiler safety valve. Took it off, cleaned and checked functions (all seems ok) and tried to re-assemble. However it is still leaking very slightly, and the leak appears to come from the point on where
