Dear Matt,

I was going to write a long missive with legalities, my long-term aspirations
for the site, editorial policies, and outstanding technical issues. ... But
I decided not to. Your copy of the site is yours. Have fun.

Legalities:

You have a non-exclusive right to copy, extend, transmit, and publish my work
known as "The Alliance for Progress Encyclopedia." In any copy, adaptation,
extension, redaction or the like you will give me proper credit through
citation for my work. You have a non-exclusive right use the name "Alliance
for Progress" and the name "Alliance for Progress Encyclopedia" as well as
other names that might belong to me used in conjunction with The Alliance for
Progress Encyclopedia.

I reserve the right to copy, extend, or publish my version The Alliance for
Progress Encyclopedia. I also reserve the right to transmit my version of
The Alliance for Progress Encyclopedia to other parties and grant them such
rights as are mine to give -- including those granted to yourself in this
document.

This document does not give me the right to 'recapture' any extension or
additional work to any copies or versions of The Alliance for Progress
Encyclopedia that I have given or will give to you, except by further
agreement between ourselves.

I regret that I cannot provide or transmit any intellectual property rights
for contributors other than myself; in particular, this document in no way
encumbers any intellectual property rights belonging to David Brin, creator
of the Uplift Universe.

Eliminate Dissertation, Engineering, and Resume. Nothing in these folders
belongs to A4PE. You will need to edit /index.html. You may also need to
edit the directories WishList and Outlinks.

The published version of the Encyclopedia is not fully up-to-date. Most
unpublished content is in the attached tar archives.

Note the attached Cascading Style Sheet. You may not want to use it in your
version of the Encyclopedia; however, it does indicate different types of
text that exist in my version.

Let me know when you want me to tear down my version of the A4PE.

I should be able to get to it within a week of hearing from you.
