I am ready to take a plunge into another *nix OS/distro (don't like
direction Debian is going). At the same time I need a new laptop which will
support it. (I also don't want to go back to RH/Fedora or smilar
derivatives.)
My new OS/distro must support most everything I do with Debian 6,
including, of course, BRL-CAD.
My OS needs long-term stability and a good fit as a guest OS on VirtualBox
because I have to support a customer with a VB image of my *nix OS.
I am considering jumping to FreeBSD, and also going to a (shudder) Mac
laptop.
I would appreciate any pros/contras or suggestions from highly-experienced
users on this list.
Thanks.
-Tom
